So you’re having a small wedding. ?Less than 50 people.?Whatever the reason it doesn’t give you a free pass to make it horrible.?Smaller weddings can be nicer and more intimate than 500 people weddings.
Here are some benefits to smaller weddings
– Invite people actually know
– Don’t have to do an over the top extravaganza if that makes you uncomfortable
– Don’t need a large reception room with four walls and no ambiance
– Don’t need to 12 speeches during the night
– No?receiving?line required for you can actually spend time with your guests
– You can pick a smaller venue with more ambiance and you’ll have more options as well.
Personally I have thrived with smaller weddings for I treat them with the same respect as a larger wedding. It does take a lot more care and attention to detail to be able to do smaller weddings in my opinion as well.
As well with a smaller budget you can make the room quite elegant by adding the proper backdrop to your bridal table, do a full room of up-lighting, possibly get more flowers or even have a larger menu options.
The choice is your yours but like I said don’t think that your small wedding has to be small in elegance or style. Take some time to figure out how to make it special even if it is 20 people attending.?The worst thing that can happen is that those 20 people feel that they are not at a wedding.
Here are a couple of venues around Montreal that I can highly recommend that know how to treat smaller weddings professionally. ?Beautiful scenic places as well easy access for beautiful photos in the surrounding areas. Both venues can handle ceremonies and receptions.
This beautiful venue situated in Coteau-du-lac west of the Island of Montreal is the perfect place for your wedding. This?all in one venue is perfect to have a beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour & reception.
Fantastic world class service and beautiful area for photos!
I have been to Au Vieux Moulin in Rigaud, Quebec a ton of times now and I always forget how beautiful this place really is. You can have both your ceremony there as well as your reception. They only hold one wedding a day on their private property. To me that is HUGE.
Doug & Caroline take very good care of the venue and it is quite obvious for every time I go there it always looks beautiful. They can accommodate up to 115 people on the top floor or 175 people on both floors. Be sure to photos can be taken anywhere there! Breathtaking waterfront!
Situated in the heart of the old port Montreal this beautiful scenic Hotel has several rooms that are elegant and beautiful. As well if you have out of town guests the Hotel can?accommodate?your guests.
For photos… just walk outside!!! gorgeous!!!
A little bit off the path however worth the drive is Hotel?Sacacomie in Saint-Alexis-des-Monts. World class service, fantastic breathtaking venue, delicious food… It’s got it all. I did a very small and?intimate?wedding there recently for 16 people. The venue treated the wedding with the same amount of detail as it would a larger wedding (something I will always notice) & was always helpful and courteous the whole time. Went above and beyond and the area is majestic.
Not hard to take pictures there in any season. Gorgeous! Truly breathtaking and don’t worry they can handle larger crowds too.
